Lyrics: Sunn raha hai na tu (Aashiqui 2)

Bookmark and Share

First things first. I absolutely hate this "sequel" fever in Bollywood right now. Does anyone even know the meaning of "sequel"? An entirely different movie with no connection with the original movie doesn't become a sequel just 'coz it has same cast as the original. Sometimes even the cast is not same. What's common in Raaz series and Murder series of movies?? These are just ploy to ride on the success of the original. (There might be exceptions where a sequel movie is really a sequel. Example - Dabanng2). Hence, I don't look forward to any 'sequel' movie in Bollywood. Every movie is a new movie.

That said, I had high expectations from the soundtrack of Aashiqui 2. First because of the name (I guess this is why movie makers reuse the name of hit movies and add 2, 3, 4 to those names. 'Coz people expect them to be good). And secondly, songs of Vishesh films' movies are more or less always good. And I'm glad it doesn't disappoint this time too. The songs are good and have beautiful lyrics. The song in the first teaser - "Tum hi ho" was my instant favorite. Then T-Series released this "Love anthem of the year" song - "Sunn raha hai na". I won't go as far as calling it a love anthem; but there's certainly something about this song that feels powerful. I cried couple of times while singing along. There's another song in this album that makes me sob - "Bhula dena mujhe.... Tujhe jina hai mere bina". Guess I'm a sucker for pain.

Anyway, here's the full lyrics of the song "Sunn raha hai na tu" from Aashiqui 2 and its English translation. Listen to the song in the player, along with other good songs of the album.

Lyrics: Mera Mann Kehne Laga (Nautanki Saala)

Bookmark and Share

Back after a long break; to share this beautiful song with you all. Ayushman Khurana's second movie - Nautanki Saala. He's got two songs in it. Loved the first time he sang - Pani Da Rang in Vicky Donor. So, had big expectations from these two songs. "Saddi Gali aaja" and "Tu hi tu" both are nice songs. But better than them is the first song in the album - Mera Mann Kehne Laga, sung by Falak Shabir. The music is so natural (for lack of better word to describe it), you instantly feel like "this is my song".

Nautanki Saala

Here's two versions of the song. Listen to both of them in the player below. I've also added other good songs of the album in the player. The lyrics of "Mera Mann kehne laga" follows, along with English translation.

Song: Mera Mann Kehne Laga
Film: Nautanki Saala
Singer/Composer/Lyrics: Falak Shabir

Tujhse hi to mili hai rahat.
Tu hi to meri hai chahaat.
Tujhse hi to judi zindagi.
Teri yaadein hain kuch adhoori.
Saans aadhi hai kuch hai poori.
Aankhon mein hai kaisi ye nami.
Mera mann, kehne laga
Paas aake na tu door jaa.
Chhoone de, honth tere.
Zara saanson mein apni basaaa...

You gave my heart peace.
You are the love of my life.
In fact, you are my life.
Your memories are little incomplete.
I'm little out of breath.
Why are the eyes a little moist?
My heart started saying
Don't go away after coming so close.
Let me touch your lips.
Love me with every breath.

Lyrics: Vele (Student of the Year)

So, Karan Johar is back at directing movies and he chose to follow his ‘love triangle in college’ formula from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The movie looks grand from the trailers and I’m specially digging the “Mashup of the Year” song. “Ishq wala Love” is nice too. Vishal-Shekhar have done a wonderful job throughout this album. But this song – Vele, asi vele – is a trickster. Once it digs its bits into your mind, you find yourself humming it all day. Check it out. Listen to all the songs (mp3) from Student of the Year below.

मैं उसके बिना बे पता हु;
बे पता, बे पता, बे पता हु.
खुदाया तू बता, कहा उसका पता; पता कर.
मैं उसके बिना बे पता हु;
बे पता, बे पता, बे पता हु.

Lyrics: Pani Da Rang (Vicky Donor) Translated

Bookmark and Share

So, I've been playing this song day & night, ever since I heard it the first time. Even though I didn't understand the meaning of all the lines of the lyrics at first; I've been humming it all day, even in office meeting et al. :P

And... what...!! Ayushmann himself sang this song...!!? Multi-talented banda hai yaar. He sang it sooo well.

Anyway, if you love the song (who doesn't??) and would like to know what the lyrics of the song "Pani Da Rang" from the movie "Vicky Donor" mean, read on.

Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.[female]

Maahiya na aaya mera, maahiya na aaya.
Maahiya na aaya mera, maahiya na aaya.
Ranjhana na aaya mera, maahiya na aaya.
Maahiya na aaya mera, ranjhana na aaya.
Akhaan da noor vekh ke...
Akhaan da noor vekh ke...
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.[female]
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.
Akhiyaan jo anju rul de.
Seeing the color of water,
tears roll down my eyes.
My lover didn't come, my beloved didn't come..
seeing the shine in the eyes,
tears roll down my eyes..
