Poem: In Your Arms Tonight

Alright, so after Wo kehte hai, here's my second poem. A thought/sentence* was circling in my mind for a few days. Thought of turning it into a short, 4 line poem yesterday. But on way to reach this line, previous lines kept coming up and by dawn today, it was a full-blown ballad. :P

There's a dialogue in Ranbir Kapoor's next movie "Rockstar" -

Tuute huwe dil se hi sangeet nikalta hai

meaning "Music is born in a broken heart only". Well, I had my share of heartbreaks in the past. But never did I belch poems and shayaris in the past... But this time, just a little wound, and I'm spilling my heart & guts in them. Wonder what will happen if this one ends up in a heartbreak. Hope not. I want this to work.

Anyway, here's the poem -

I look back at the day I confessed
and I wonder whether I did right.
I was all alone, living a lonely life.
You brought colors, you brought light.
Talking to you made my days,
making you laugh made me smile.
Months passed like minutes,
before I knew, it's been a while.

Said I can't be just friends, I wanted more.
Said how much I like you, said how I adore.

I haven't written anything original in a long long time and had been out of touch of this side of myself. There's been a lot of upheavals in past couple of years and now I stand at a cross-road in my life. One road turns my life around & makes my life worth living. The other one just continues on the same path I've been trading so far, if not more treacherous. Catch is, which path I get to walk on - that is not up to me anymore.

Anyway, one line was in my mind since last Friday. And while I was lazing on my bed this morning, that one line lead to other lines and it took the form of a shayari (romantic poem). And I myself was surprised that it turned out to be quite good without much effort. [Surprised 'coz I always sucked at poetry.] Check it out -

वो कहते है उन्हें भी प्यार है मुझसे, पर सामने आते है तो नज़रे भी नहीं मिलाते.
उन्हें तो है यकीन मेरे प्यार पे, पर अपने प्यार का वो मुझे यकीन नहीं दिलाते.
कभी वो मेरा हाथ थामे, मेरी बाहों में समाये तो मेरे दिल को भी सुकून पोहोचे.
पता चले ये कभी ना होना है तो सोचेंगे - काश उनके रहने के लिए अपने टूटे दिल को ना सिलाते.

Wo kehte hai unhe bhi pyar hai mujhse, par samne aate hai to nazre bhi nahi milate.
Unhe to hai yakeen mere pyar pe, par apne pyar ka wo mujhe yakeen nahi dilate.
Kabhi wo mera hath thaame, meri baho me samaye to mere dil ko bhi sukun pohoche.
Pata chale ye kabhi naa hona hai to sochenge - kash unke rehne ke liye apne tuute dil ko naa silate.

I said I Love You


When U were only 5 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U asked me: "What is it?"

When U were 15 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U blushed.. U looked down and smiled..

When U were 20 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U put ur head on my shoulder and
held my hand, afraid that I might disappear..

When U were 25 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U prepared breakfast and served it in front of me,
and kissed my forehead and said :
"U better be quick, it's gonna be late.."

When U were 30 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U said: "If U really Love Me, please
come back early after work.."

When U were 40 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U were cleaning the dining table and said:
"Ok Dear, but it's time for U to help our child with his revision.."

When U were 50 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U were knitting and U laughed at me..

When U were 60 yrs old, I said I Love U..
U smiled at me..

When U were 70 yrs old, I said I Love U..
We sitting on the rocking chair with our glasses on..
I'm reading your Love Letter that U sent to me 50 yrs ago..
With our hand crossing together..

When U were 80 yrs old, U said U Love Me!
I didn't say anything but cried..

That day must be The Happiest Day of my life!

where the river mingles with the sea;
where wishing upon the falling stars can answer every prayer;

Where tears turn into precious gems;
where from every word a poem stems;
where I complete the picture of my imaginative flair;

Cries for him..
Wants to marry him..
Wants to wake him up with a good morning kiss..
Wants to give him a good bye kiss when he leaves for his office..
Wants a family with him..
Wants to grow old with him…..BUT ..
These words are unsaid….and they always would be…!!!

AAAHHH…THESE LOVE STORIES…
Strange are the ways of the heart..
Unsaid…unheard but always understood (sometimes misunderstood too!!)

Yes,This is for you my love,
why are you so unseen ,so unknown to me…
how can I say, I miss u love ,
when 24/7 you are around me,
You are not in my heart,
You are in my soul,
I dont claim to love you till my last breath,
I promise to love you even after my death,
I want to know you like no one does,
I want to love you like no one does,
But we are so far far away,
I wish we meet someday,
If not on this earth, then in heaven,
If not in this world ,then in the next,
If not in this life, then in the next………

What is love....??

is it spending time with someone
thinking about someone
caring for someone
understanding someone
thinking somone elses pain as your's
waking in the middle of the night and missing them
is it lust
is it to be with someone when they really need you
is it to be kissed...or hugged
well if you ask me..about it..
i say 'i don't know'
because i have not been loved.....

I reach for her hand-it's always there

How long does it last
Can love be measured by the hours in a day
I have no answers now but this much I can say
